Joseph Lezza is a Pushcart-nominated writer on the east coast with a BA from Rutgers University and an MFA from The University of Texas at El Paso.

His debut memoir in essays, I'm Never Fine: Scenes and Spasms on Loss (Vine Leaves Press), was a finalist for the 2024 Eric Hoffer Book Award and the 2021 Prize Americana in Prose. It was named by Buzzfeed LGBTQ+, Lambda Literary, them, StyleCaster, and ABC7 San Fransisco as a "Most Anticipated/Best Book” of 2023. 

As an independent writer, Joseph's work has been featured in, among others, LongreadsOcculum, Variant Literature, The HopperWest Trade Review, and Santa Fe Writers Project

As a media professional, he has led the creative development and execution of multiplatform co-marketing campaigns across the worlds of entertainment, news, streaming, & sports for Big 5 publishers, including Warner Bros. Discovery, NBC Universal, The Walt Disney Company, Paramount, and more.

When he’s not writing, he spends his time worrying about why he’s not writing.
